The short version
Tell us a true story from your life, and we'll turn it into a comic. Please only put real people in it who are part of your life and who'd be happy to be in it, and never use it to hurt anyone.
Using Comic World
- You must be 18 or over.
- Comic World is an early version. Things may change, break or be unavailable, and we may limit how much each person can make per day.
- Pictures are drawn by AI and checked automatically, but they can still have mistakes. Look your comic over before you share or print it.
What you can and can't make
You can make comics about you, your family, friends, partner, colleagues, career and memories. You can't use Comic World to make comics that:
- show real politicians, film stars, athletes or other public figures (we won't draw them);
- use photos of someone without their permission, or photos you don't have the right to use;
- mock, humiliate, threaten, sexualise or tell lies about a real person;
- include sexual content, or any sexual content involving anyone under 18;
- spread hate against people for their religion, caste, race, gender, sexuality, disability or background;
- promote terrorism, violence, self-harm or anything illegal;
- copy other people's characters, logos or artwork.
We check stories, photos and drawings, and we may refuse, stop or remove a comic that breaks these rules.
Your story and your comic
- Your story stays yours.
- You let us use your story, answers and photos to make, store and show your comic to you, and to fix problems with it.
- Free comics are public. When your comic is finished, it goes on Explore, where anyone can read it and recreate its format with their own story. You let us show it there, in previews of it, and in our own promotion of Comic World (for example a picture of the cover in a blog post). Keeping a comic private will be part of paid plans; if you need a comic taken down, contact us and we'll take it off Explore and stop using it in new promotion.
- Because your comic will be public, only make comics you're happy for anyone to read.
- You can download your comic for personal use, gifts and printing at home.
Photos and permission
When you upload a photo you confirm it's of you, or of someone who agreed to be drawn (for a child, their parent or guardian), and that you're allowed to use it. You're responsible for having that permission.
Reporting a comic
If a comic on Explore shows you without permission, or breaks these rules, use Report this comic on its page. It comes off Explore straight away while we look at it.
Our responsibility
We do our best to keep Comic World working and your comics safe, but we provide it as it is, without promises that it will always be available or perfect. As far as the law allows, we aren't responsible for indirect losses, or for how anyone uses a comic after it's downloaded or shared.
Changes and law
We may update these terms; we'll change the date at the top when we do. These terms are governed by the laws of India.
